Highworth & Swindon’s newest, and probably only, ‘Metalsoul’ band, and general health hazard. Metalsoul’.
And we’ve made grown men dance naked, on tabletops (don’t ask). Actually, we’re not metal. Soulful, yes, we can be. And we can rock pretty hard, but we’re not metal. Find us on Facebook at SpidaSense (Official) – gig listing is on the ‘pinned post’.
Lee Knott – vocals & guitar. An energetic amalgam of Bob Marley and Mick Jagger, with a voice like Joe Cocker, Lee is a professional Mancunian. Or Scouser.
Shaun Barry – guitar. Don’t let the Jeff Beck-like good looks and suit fool you. There’s nothing like a tortured Strat, and when Shaun gets his slide going he’ll hit notes only dogs can hear.
Matt Chipperfield – guitar, vocals & drums. PigHill music promoter, and aficionado of jackets with elbow patches, Matt wouldn’t sound out of place fronting the Stereophonics.
Roger Haworth – bass & vocals. Big Rog is the eldest, and most sensible in the band (it’s all relative). He also plays bass with Swindon pub rock legends The Hamsters From Hell, and doesn’t always need a bass guitar to create some serious low-end rumble.
Alex Drew – drums, vocals & guitar. The baby of the band. Besides drums and guitar, whilst away ‘on tour’ his hobbies include wandering industrial estates in the dead of night, when he has a perfectly serviceable hotel bed to go to instead.
Formed in October 2015, previously Lee and Shaun had played together for some time, as had Matt and Shaun. When eventually all three hooked up, Lee kept pestering Rog in their local pub, until Rog finally thought that if he did actually have a listen about these so-called great songs Lee was banging on about, he might leave him alone. Well, that was in October 2015, and he hasn’t left the band yet. Alex was also found in a pub.
Since then, SpidaSense has played at various local festivals and events, such as the Swindon Shuffle, Stratton Stroll, Pride, Stratton Festival, and as far afield as Brighton. The band is also in the process of recording their first album.
SpidaSense hopes you enjoy Wrde Up, and their ‘Metalsoul’.
